Erosion whittles down the mountain
dropping stone debris
that crushes and smothers what now sits beneath
A rock warps the surrounding ecosystem
without warning,
forcing this geocentric model on an unwitting populace
By nature the stone stays stuck
unmoved, uncaring, unable
to become greater
It is just a rock
Erosion whittles down the rock
Dust in the wind
Leaves behind an arrowhead-
a stone given purpose,
weathered into a weapon,
designed to draw blood
By nature the arrow flies
And strikes
And kills
And the stone still is unmoved, uncaring, unable
to become greater
It is just a weapon
